Faith

Just a single image blog today, and its quite an old one.

I have been looking back over my years of shooting, thinking of the amazing creative people I have met along the way and thinking how lucky I have been to have had a little part in making some cool images. I never thought when I first got a camera that I would be able to take images like this.

This shot is from 2015, with Faith, who is now living in Paris with her husband. Luckily for European photographers she is still shooting and still looking as amazing as ever. Her job takes her all all over Europe now, which is a bit more exciting than Yorkshire I would imagine. I worked with her in in Carr House, Kirklees Hall, a beautiful Grade 1 listed building in Yorkshire where Robin Hood was said to have died, and one of the Bronte sisters wrote a famous book, although I can’t remember its name.

Looking at this image now I wish I had moved back a little to get the whole of the chandelier in to the image, but it’s a minor bugbear really. I just love the expression on Faith’s face, and the beautiful dress she is wearing. One of my favourite images from around this time of my shooting I think!

Lighting wise I used one of my Bowens monoblocs with a gridded beauty dish attached to it, in all honesty its been my go to set up for years, and as ever I didn’t fire the flash, preferring to up the ISO slightly and use the model lamp as ambient light.

One day I would love to work with her again, perhaps a trip to Paris next year!

Thanks for reading :)
