I haven’t made a blog post in a year, a whole year! That is a bit crap to be honest. I should try harder with these things!

I think maybe its best I start with my most recent shoot, which was taken just before the lockdown got us all staying in, because there are a LOT of cool images that came from this shoot.

I made a little trip up the road to Birmingham to shoot and catch up with my friend Natasha J Bella, who was staying there for a few days in a hotel that seemed to have quite a cool 70’s vibe going on.

To put it simply Natasha is probably the most elegant, glamorous and beautiful woman I know, shes also one of the kindest people about and doesn’t have a bad word to say about anybody, which is a wonderful quality these days. Shooting with her is always a joy with a lot of laughs thrown in and she always have the most beautiful outfits to shoot in. Shes a bit of a photographers delight really!

Anyway, we had a fabulous few hours and it really did me good to work in a new location (rather then just shooting at home as I had been doing for quite a while) and to get my brain working on angles and positions and all those little problems you have to get around when working in a new place. Most of these images are just available light but a couple utilized the Rotolight Neo 2’s that I bought a little while back. I like them a lot, they are fun to use!

Just before we get to the images its worth pointing out that Natasha has been creating the most amazing work during the lockdown by shooting remotely with many different photographers via her studio in Leeds. This allows you to remotely control all aspects of the camera settings on a DSLR set up in Natasha’s awesome studio while being able to converse with Natasha in real time. She also has all the lighting and technical knowledge you need if its not something you are used to.
